Title not updating from AD to SP UI


As requested by Trevor in this MS query (, this timer job does not update the Title/Job Title field. The following is true:-
  • If the User has a blank title in AD upon creation, then no title shows in SP
  • If a title is added to the User's title in AD, this syncs across to SP after the timer job is run
  • If the title is changed in AD, this does not sync to SP when the timer job is run
Email address updates fine if that is changed. I have not tested any other fields.

Let me know if you require any logs or anything to assist you.

Can you see if other attributes are working the same way for you? I was unable to replicate this in a test environment (no value -> set value -> change value -> remove value).

I added a mobile number to a user - replicated fine.
I removed the mobile number from the user - replicated fine.
I readded the mobile number to the user - replicated fine.
I changed the mobile number of the user - replicated fine.

Seems its just an issue when the Title is changed.
